Rear tyre/wheel fitted

I now have a rolling chassis. To do list consists of fine tuning of the wheel and sprocket spacers. Have removed the inner rear mudguard as it looks a bit naff. Waiting for new sprockets to turn up before doing the fine tuning.

  1. Hey Christo
Hada look through this post some time back. Its absolutely BRILLIANT want you've done with this bike. Would have loved to have seen the end result.

Anyway the reason I'm mailing is coz I bought a 1980 DR400 with the same goal in mind. I'm over in NZ and am finding non of the bikeshops are willing to help or give some insight as to what would be best parts to use so on and so forth (Including the shop I bought it from).

I've been through every post of yours step by step and that has helped as I could use it as a guide.

The first thing I'm trying to get sorted is the electrics. Did you have standard DR electrics or from another bike?

Hope to hear from you soon

    Cheers

    1. Glad you enjoyed my blog. I did use the standard DR wiring which was slightly modified to suit, a Honda XL185 headlight and a lucas (replica) tailight. I spent hours and hours doing research on the internet to find the right parts to use, it's all part of the fun. I still have the wiseco oversize piston and rebored barrel and a few other bits.
