Yamaha vs Ducati Hyper Trix

There is only one new motorcycle currently on the market that I would buy. And that is the Ducati HyperMotard. The cheapest model (used) will still set you back thirteen grand ($13K). And with that you get the infamous Ducati gremlins. So I have quickly mocked up my own example of the breed, my own franken-bike, a bike I call the Yamaha Hyper TRIX..Simply fit the hypermotard body work to a Yamaha TRX850 and voila!!! Its an ideal marriage as the Yamaha is also a twin, so it would sound the same and also has a trellis frame, so at a glance you would never know....

TS185 Brat Bike Concept

I could not sleep, so I put down this concept Brat Bike. Using an eighties model Suzuki TS185 with 16x3 wheels and Firestone vintage tyres. Also bobber style tank and seventies TS185 pipe with chrome heat shield. I think it needs to be a considerably lower stance than current.

My very first bike build

Going through some old photo albums and found a photo of this old gem. It was a 'Jaguar Deluxe' that I got for Christmas. Don't let the name fool you, it was a heavy steel framed bike. It came originally with a short sissy bar, banana seat and ape hamgers . Trouble was I really dug BMXers (this was around 1980).So not long after I ditched the sissy bar, seat, bars, gooseneck, forks and tyres and replaced them with BMX type parts. Most expensive part was the 'Tange' chrome-moly forks which didn't fit quite right as the bearings were slightly different. Later on I even rattle-canned the wheels bright yellow, as the cheap chrome used to rust all the time!. I rode that bike to death on-road and in the bush as there was bush ditrectly across the road from my parents house.

Yamaha IT250/490 GP Cafe racer

Got the inspiration for this concept from a YZ250R custom road racer built in 1980. But I have used the Yamaha IT enduro as a base, as it is street legal. Forks are RD250, tank is aftermarket RD and tail is TZ350. Just needs some lights.

Honda MT250 vintage supermoto street tracker concept

I spotted a quite rare Honda MT250 for sale on Gumtree the other evening, and worked up a few concepts. For those who don't know, it is a street legal two-stroke from the early seventies based on the Honda CR250 Elsinore motocrosser.
